Why use Pilates for Riding?
With riding its important you have the physical fitness and suppleness to be effective in any of the disciplines. But you first need to ensure you have good posture, balance, suppleness and co-ordination off the horse to enable you to move in harmony with the horse and provide clear effective aids.
Have you ever wondered why certain riders can sit to anything and looks as though their body is doing nothing? This is because they have good core stability and balance - through engagement of your abdominal muscles, you will be much more plugged in and secure with the horse.
