It's traditional.
Every year since 2008.
The Musical Box is presenting a short series of special shows across the festive period. Borrowing shamelessly from the classic Bob Dylan wireless extravaganza, Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour - we're doing our own variation. Last year saw us tackle Planes, Trains and Automobiles - this year's Musical Box Theme Time Show features London Tube Stations.
Yes - a dozen songs devoted to a choice selection of those iconic tube station names: you may well hear them all the time on I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue (in the game Mornington Crescent), but here we feature such diverse artists as The New Vaudville Band, the Kinks. Duffy, Donovan, Jethro Tull, Lindisfarne, Madness, Qunitessence, Clifford T Ward, Bread, Level 42 - and the one you can all guess, Gerry Rafferty. With special sound effects and fascinating background info - it's a show not to miss.
Catch it across Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Bank Holiday Monday - it'll get several airings, so tune your radio to 92.3 and listen in duing the day.
So - many thanks to fellow presenter Paul "The Fabulous 50s" Peters for the suggestion - and enjoy the journey.
